Job Title: Belly Dump Driver 

Division: Construction/ South Utah county 

Supervisor: Construction Trucking Manager

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Belly Dump driver is to deliver products in a safe and efficient manner. 

________________________________________________________________________________________________ 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company's vision and core values. 

  • Maintain and clean assigned truck and perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections. Report mechanical problems to the maintenance division. 

  • Belly dump driver: dump asphalt and rock products accurately, access off road construction sites, and safely maneuver truck where needed. 

  • Pick up check or cash on delivery (COD) orders and deliver them to dispatch with billing tickets. 

  • Obtain tickets signed by the customer and leave the customer a copy. 

  • Maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and department of transportation (DOT) medical card. 

  • Maintain an insurable driving record. 

  • Obey all traffic laws and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. 

  • Must hold a current Commercial Class A Driver License with double and triples endorsements and medical card.

Physical Demands/Safety: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. 

  • Sitting: 80% of time 

  • Standing: 20% of time 

  • Driving: 80% of time 

  • Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head. 

  • Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder on the truck several times a day. 

  • Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. 

  • Working Conditions: 90% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
