Overview

Job Title: Scales Supervisor

Division: Aggregates

Supervisor: Dispatch & Scales Manager

 

Summary: 

The scale team supervisor, will oversee the day-to-day functioning of the scale team, ensure seamless coordination across departments, and support leadership in driving efficiency, accuracy, and service excellence. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Team Leadership & Scheduling 

  • Develop and manage daily schedules for the scale team to ensure optimal coverage and productivity. 
  • Provide on-the-ground support by covering scale and dispatch duties as needed. 
  • Ensure coverage during employee PTO or unexpected absences. 
  • Conduct daily and weekly team check-ins to maintain alignment and morale. 
  • Create and monitor individual development plans to support employee growth and performance goals. 
  • Oversee scale inspections and maintenance to ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards. 

 

Training & Staff Development 

  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training for scale team members to ensure consistent performance. 
  • Maintain and update training binders and materials to reflect current processes and standards. 
  • Conduct interviews and assist in the recruitment process for scale and dispatch roles. 

 

Operational Oversight 

  • Submit and verify time clock hours to ensure accurate payroll. 
  • Order and manage ticket supplies, ensuring availability for all operational needs. 
  • Order general supplies and ensure the scale team is fully equipped with all necessary materials. 
  • Assist with remote ticketing processes and troubleshoot issues as required. 
  • Conduct ticket audits to ensure process integrity and accuracy. 
  • Monitor and enhance scale productivity through continuous improvement practices. 
  • Track attendance and manage records of extra shifts or adjustments. 

 

Cross-Department Collaboration 

  • Coordinate closely with the sales team to support client needs and special requests. 
  • Assist customers with non-standard or special service requests with professionalism and accuracy. 
  • Update and manage internal project trackers, account statuses, and sales information. 
  • Perform COD reconciliation to ensure all card payments are collected. 
  • Provide administrative and project support to the management team as required.
