Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Division: Equipment & Facilities
Supervisor: Electrical Foreman
Job Summary: The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. They will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and electrical panels
- Perform regular maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and provide solutions
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Keep up-to-date with industry codes and standards and ensure compliance in all work
- Collaborate with other trades professionals, such as HVAC technicians or plumbers, as needed
- Communicate with customers to understand their electrical needs and provide recommendations
- Train and mentor apprentices or less experienced electricians, as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
- Completion of an apprenticeship program and Journeyman Electrician certification
- 3+ years of experience in industrial, commercial and/or residential electrical installation and repair
- Familiarity of PLC controls and Relay Logic preferred
- Knowledge of electrical systems and codes and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints
- Familiarity with a variety of electrical tools and equipment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, if required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
